1 Year Old’s

Joshua Hubbell August 31, 2022

When photographing babies, remember that they are setting the tone of the photo session. Sure, you will be picking the location and maybe even the outfits, but you can only pull so much out of them as they still are learning social ques and even how to talk. So don’t get frustrated, just go with the flow and take what they give. The good news is, since they are new, they usually have a natural intrigue with the world around them – follow that. They will explore wherever you put them and that’s where you will pull some decent photos from. Capture the magic babies get from their curiosity with their surroundings and you will capture some magic moments that their parents will love.

Also, be sure to work with their parents and your common sense too. If the baby isn’t walking yet or if the baby is walking will likely change how you do things. At the same time, their parents likely know how to bring out a smile or at the least get them to look in a certain direction so go with that. And don’t be afraid to ask their parents for help – parents love that they have a special connection with their baby that no one else in the world does.
